TYCO BMW S1000RR rated by Guy Martin

Guy had driven down to Almeria in Southern Spain in his Transit van – (kipping in it as well) to link up with team mate William Dunlop and the Tyco BMW squad of Tommy Bridewell, Michael Laverty and Alistair Seeley (Superstock).

Both the roads specialists tested the stock bike and not the full factory Superbikes that Bridewell and Laverty were on. Even so, Guy’s ebullient reaction to the stock bike was that it went like “Billyo.” Further expansion of that revealed that it went ….”like you know what off a shovel.”

Dunlop was equally impressed – openly stating that he had gone quicker on day one on the BMW than he had during last year’s three day test. Last year’s opening NW200 superbike winner joked – “the BMW is so fast as stock, it’s hard to believe you would need a superbike version.”

The two road racing specialists have their first outing on the bikes at the Cookstown 100 on April 24 and 25.
